Undergraduate Course Description
Air Traffic Control Systems
 
(3-2-3) A course (aircraft line maintentance) in
the theory, operation, testing and inspection of
Air Traffic Control Radar-based surveillance
systems and Space-based surveillance systems to
include; ATCRBS elementary air traffic control
systems (Mode A, Mode C, and Mode S) and
Automatic Dependant Surveillance and Broadcast
(ADS-B) and Mode S Extended Squitter(ES) systems.
This course will also address the theory,
operation, testing, and inspection of aircraft
Traffic Collision and Avoidance Systems (TCAS) as
well. The student will receive training on the
setup and use of common and peculiar test
equipment associated with the testing of Aircraft
Traffic Control Surveillance Systems (ATCRBS) and
Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS).
